Step 1
Windows 10: Settings > Devices > Printers and Scanners > Add a Printer or Scanner
Windows 7: Start > Devices and Printers > Add a Printer
After searching a bit a link will come up saying “The printer I want isn’t listed”. Click it.
If asked, add a Network Printer
Select to add a printer by TCP/IP address
Enter the IP address and ensure “Query the printer…” is checked and hit Next
10.6.11.8 for the
Library / Media Center Brother HLL5100 printer
Do NOT make it a shared printer if Windows asks to share it.
That should do it.
MacOS
Go into settings, Printers.
Click the plus sign to add a printer.
Select IP
Enter the IP address
10.6.11.8 for the Library / Media Center Brother HLL5100 printer
In the name field, change the name to something pleasing like “Brother HLL5100” or "Library Printer" or "Student Center Printer".
Select Add printer and you’re good to go.
iOS (iPads and iPhones or other iThings)
Be on the vva network,
not
VVAGuest
Settings > Wifi > select other
Enter vva
Security is WPA2 Enterprise > go back
Enter your ID and password which are the villavictoria.org Gmail credentials we gave you. Then hit Join.
If you get an error trying to join “vv a “, delete the space at the end of the
Trust the certificate it presents
Sit and wait and it should join the network
In an app, print something (look for a sheet of paper icon with a line of 3 dots and tap Print).
Select AirPrint
Tap Print to select a printer
Pick a printer from the list.
Tap Print
Android
Be on the vva network, not the VVAGuest network.
Settings > wifi > select vva
EAP method is PEAP
CA Certificate set to Do not validate
Enter your user ID in Identity and Password in Password
Use the ID and PW from your villavictoria.org mail account without the @villavictoria.org part.
Tab Connect
In the printer dropdown list at the top., select All Printers
Select the Brother printer. It might be conveniently named BRN3C2AF45D26E5
Tap the Printer icon.
